Crime & Safety meetings take place at Community House, on  Highstone Road, Worsbrough Common  @   11 am  on the last Thursday of every month.  The meetings are held for residents to attend to enable their views and concerns around crime and safety issues in Worsbrough    Common.  The SNT’s and local police are in  attendance also.


Connexions Resource Library

We have community computers available (at Rising Stars, Worsbrough Common Primary School) that can help   with accessing courses or employment. Just pop into the centre for more information. Kath Beecham from     Connexions is available to offer help every Tuesday  afternoon between 1.30pm and 5pm

My name is Margaret Freeman and I started work for BMBC in July 2005 as the Kendray and Worsbrough Learning Resource Centre Manager. 

Having worked within different community settings for several years my focus is on community development and lifelong learning. 

We aim to help our community move forward.

Kendray and Worsbrough Sure Start has been set up to support families with children under the age of five. 

Sunnybank Children’s Centre offers access to professional workers from many agencies who can offer advice, support and links into a variety of services and organisations.  They can help with all issues families may face when their children are young. 

The Sunnybank Children’s Centre covers primarily the area of Kendray, Bank End, Ward Green, Worsbrough Dale, Worsbrough Bridge and Stairfoot. 

What can Sure Start at Sunnybank Children’s Centre offer to children and Families? 

  • Outreach work form our Support Team.

  • Bookstart provide free books for young children.

  • Access to Health Visitors and Midwives.

  • Pre-school groups delivered by our childcare team.

  • Advice, support and information for you and your family.

  • Promotion of early learning and language development.

  • Support for expectant parents before and after birth.

  • Nutrition advice and weaning parties.

  • Parent and child library resources.

  • Access to stop smoking service.

  • Job search and training advice.

  • Parent training courses.

  • Nursery Provision  - full day care (Charges will apply)

All service and activities are FREE except for nursery provision, although there may be an occasional small charge for trips out etc.

We offer Full/Part time and sessional care for children aged 6 weeks – 5 years old. Do you want to take some time for you? Are you thinking of going back to work? Then come and look around our newly built children’s centre and see what we can offer you?

FREE Taster sessions available 

Toddler Group every Friday morning 9.30am-11.30am (term time only)

Come and meet new people while your children play in a safe and fun environment. A healthy snack will be provided! 

Family Support Worker
Hannah is our Family Support Worker at the Children’s Centre and can offer advice and tips on many aspects of parenting including, Weaning, challenging behaviours, Daily Routines, Sleeping and many more

Community Link have a community cafe which is open Monday to Thursday 11.30am until 1.30pm.  A selection of meals are available at a very reasonable price.  Please feel free to drop in and enjoy the delicious food.
